Catholic Charities of Los Angeles is the human services arm of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Catholic Charities works to provide social services to the communities around the Los Angeles area operating 22 communities centers offering a multitude of programs including food shelves, senior services, immigration help, low income preschool, employment services and many other community outreach programs.

Charity History

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles was formed in 1919 by the combination of many different Catholic charities throughout the Los Angeles area. Early on it was known as the Catholic Welfare Bureau.
