Charity History

The National Kidney Foundation was founded by Ada DeBold and Harry DeBold in 1950 as the Committee for Nephrosis Research which later became the National Nephrosis Foundation and in 1964, the National Kidney Foundation. The DeBolds began their quest into kidney research in response to the diagnosis of nephrosis in their infant son.

National Kidney Foundation Car Donation Program

The National Kidney Foundation has an experienced in house donation program "Kidney Cars" and a network of national partners to accept car donations throughout the US. Then Kidney Cars program has been operational for more than 30 years and pioneered the acceptance of car donations by charities.
